You can buy an insecticide, although spiders are not technically an insect. Because they walk around on webs or their “tip toes”, they often don’t pick up a lot of insecticide. Because they don’t groom themselves like most insects do, they can be a little harder to kill as well. Glue traps can catch them.
Some insecticides don’t last very long. This is important to know because if a spider lays 400 eggs in your house today, and you spray an insecticide that doesn’t kill eggs, and doesn’t last long enough to wait for those eggs to come out, you could pretty quickly have a big spider issue.
I’d recommend you get an estimate from a professional (of course) so you at least know what your options are before attempting to do it yourself.
