Heat Treatments/Thermal Remediation
Adam's has and can provide a variety of Heat Treatments.
What is a Heat Treatment? A Heat Treatment is an application of heat, where one raises the temperature of the space, its contents, and most importantly of the target pest to a temperature lethal to that pest.
Sometimes these treatments are called Thermal Remediation.
What pests do we target with Heat Treatments? Potentially any, but mainly Bed Bugs, Pantry Pests (various beetles and other insects that infest stored food products), and Wood Infesting Pests.
We have heat treated houses, townhomes, apartments, dorms, hospital delivery rooms, flour rooms...
Adam's also has a unique Heat Chamber, where we can heat treat pallets, infested products, wood destined for overseas (such as shipping containers), personal belongings, etc.
Adam's is proud to have partnered with Temp-Air, a leading supplier of Thermal Remediation equipment, who happens to be based in Minnesota. Together, we heat treated what we believe to have been the first apartment to be heat treated for bed bugs in Minnesota back in November 2006.
Today, we have three systems of 4 heaters each and perform heat treatments almost every day, with a dedicated crew who almost exclusively perform heat treatments. Heat treatments are part science and part art, and it is this expeience dating back to 2006, and with dedicated people, and enough equipment to not have a long backlog that keeps Adam's a step ahead of our competition - and the target pests!
